Grapevine Fellowship History Grapevine Fellowship began as a Bible Study in 1978. Pastor Bud Higginbotham was sent out from Neighborhood Foursquare Church to reach new people in another part of town. Growth was slow, but steady. When Pastor Bud was called away to El Monte, CA, Pastor Gil Wank led the congregation, followed by Pastor Merle Quimby. In 1983, the church moved to our present Nellis Blvd. location, and Pastor Bud returned in 1985. An Alcoholics Anonymous Bible Study began to bring in many new converts that filled the church with the excitement of those who know their sins have been forgiven. Alcoholics, drug addicts, prostitutes and bikers found love and acceptance just as they were. And Jesus brought the inward change that transforms us into His Image. In 1990, a new sanctuary was built to accommodate the crowds of new converts and worshippers. In 1997, Pastor Bud went home to be with Jesus. His son, Pastor Dean Higginbotham became the next senior pastor, following in his father's footsteps. In 1998, a fire destroyed the building and forced the church into smaller quarters, but the vision and passion for the crushed and broken remains. And soon a new building will be built to provide space for expanded ministry.
