Recently Marylou & I (Susan) attended the Spiritual Warfare Conference at Pastor Pete Akins' church, True Life Center in Cedar City, UT.  The event was successful in the sense of the abundant blessings God poured out the entire weekend, especially in calling back lost children and healing hearts through the working of His powerful Word and as we ministered to one another.

The event was delightfully inclusive and interdenominational as we had representatives from many other congregations in the local area ministering alongside Pastor Pete.  It was a very encouraging sign of the unity of the community of God's children.

Pastor Robby Booth spoke on Sat night and Sunday morning.  Both times, he was incredible, but I would like to take the opportunity to overview a few highlights of Sat night.

Regarding Spiritual Warfare, Pastor Robbie stressed seven battle words.

1. Submit: we must trust God and give God our all.  Keeping something from God begins building strongholds.
2. Resist:  It is the pulling away that launches the battle.  He encouraged standing firm and staring down the enemy.  Resist and he will flee.
3. Confess: He reminded us that God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
4. Renounce:  This was a surprising word that got my attention and I had forgotten about.  Pastor Robbie used the story of the banker and the client to illustrate that sometimes we get under a contract that we don’t really need or want to be under.  Say we want something, so we get the loan, and then we owe the banker interest and keep paying.  We want some more and the cycle continues.  In order to get out of the situation, perhaps a recurring sin or something that we just can’t seem to get victory over, we know and acknowledge that God has paid the debt, but we must tear up the contract.  It was very freeing to identify a problem area and renounce it, tearing up the contract.  And later when the temptation comes, we can simple say, “Oh, I tore up that contract.  I don’t have to feel that way anymore or do those things anymore.”
5. Binding & loosing: Binding enforces the denial of the enemy’s perceived authority and loosing (allowing) God’s authority welcomes His reign in the situation.
6. Word:  We can cling to the promises of God because His Word is truth and reveals God justice, authority and rulership in the face of Satan’s lies.
7. Prayer & fasting: Pastor Robby reminded us that persistent prayer and sincere fasting gets God’s attention and action.

Finally, Pastor Robby publicly recognized Grapevine Fellowship for all that you are doing in the outreach to the less fortunate and our ministry of loving broken people who are seeking recovery. Our moto is “Ministering God’s Wholeness to Broken People”.  Pastor Robby says we’re doing the job.  Keep up the good work.

we have done Seek God for the City for several years now.  But I am finding this one to be 'in tune' with current needs.
This particular edition seems easier to follow, read and pray for.  Previous ones had to much stuff going on or too many things to focus on in a day.  I like the 2009 edition.  the passages are not excessive and the focus is direct.

Keep it up! we are going to see great things to come... and be done right here in this city!   in Jesus name... PRAY!
