it seems that there are only four of us making a habit of hanging out on here, and we need to give people incentives to come...
and when bonniesmom started the haiku thread, and then i started a couple of other poetry threads, i heard bells in my head going 'ding ding ding ding ding'
now i'm sure there are lots of grapes at church with creative minds. especially the girls... of all ages. let's face it, almost every female on the planet likes to write poetry, right? and we have lots of teens at church that probably spend 90% of their free time online anyway. so we really need to promote the opportunity to post poetry on the website.
and for even more incentive, i think it would be really cool if, after we have lots and lots and lots of poems posted, if we put them into a book! there are plenty of places to self-publish. i've done it before on cafepress, although i don't think i'd use them again. there are other places that have better prices now. i looked up one site, and we could put together something like 150 pages in a paperback for a base cost of less than $8 per book.
and after we do that, we could either sell them at no profit, or we could add a couple of bucks to the price and use the profit for fundraisers for camps!
what's everyone think of that?
